Hungry Sayings [from Colombia] explores the relationship between vernacular language, visual culture, and bilingualism by translating traditional Colombian sayings about food.

In this project, textiles trascend their traditional role, offering enhanced benefits to the wearer. Infused with pigments extracted from microalgae, which are rich in anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and synthetised bacteria extracts, textiles are designed for a close relationship with the skin. Their dual purpose is to alleviate anti inflammatory syntomps such as itching and to protect the skin from external bacteria.

Beyond Flares

 Materiality is crucial in this project to provide an immersive reading experience. Three types of paper represent the phases of verbal communication.

&#39;Unsteady Ground&#39; tells the story of a progressive experience with ataxia, highlighting his gradual loss of verbal communication. By collecting memories from those close to the artist and integrating layout design, materiality, and typographic manipulation, the publication provides a comprehensive depiction of this condition and expresses qualities of language that words alone cannot.

Imperfect Amendments is a collection of interviews, essays, live projects, and a speculative example at Leeds Art Gallery demonstrating how retrofit strategies are improved through critical access theory. Together, they show how essential queer, disabled, and neurodiverse people’s experience and ingenuity is for rethinking architectural design as sustainable and equitable.
