Inner Worlds

The final service design outcome, BEING HUMAN is an internal workplace communication platform that helps creative organisations build a psychologically safe workplace for their employees to share their challenges and support each other.The platform allows employees to collaborate productively and supportively in day-to-day communications including new employee onboarding sessions, team meetings and regular check-ins.

Embrace Being Human at Work 

This project is to create a magazine for Highly Sensitive People(HSPs) who need holistic guidance on well-being and test its relevance and effectiveness through the Focus Group. The research started with the main question, &quot;What does a magazine which helps highly Sensitive People look like?&quot; Following that, the essential findings derived from psychology and publishing research were that sensitive people, particularly HSPs, want a publication that provides a sense of calmness, information about hypersensitivity, and community.

A Lifestyle Magazine For Sensitive People 

Born from a piece of automatic writing, with the title being a play-on-words for asking what you (the audience) are really waiting for, this original sound-art work aims to transport audiences into altered states of consciousness and extract the truest forms of memory and emotion. Whether these states are positive or negative is within the receivers&#39; hands, the work acting as a vessel for outbursts of true emotional and physical response. Combining mediums of cinematography, slow-cinema and colourful synthesis, the work aims to influence the space and its documentation through the ambiguous serenity of the visuals &amp; sonics.

Awaiting Room

Baku is an interface application design that concentrates on alleviating negative post-nightmare distress in the general population and documenting a nightmare re-scripting journal in the manner of sound experiences. Inspired by imagery rehearsal therapy, art therapy, and cultural manifestations, the design outcome integrates modern psychotherapeutic research with traditional eastern imagery of Baku from Japanese folktales, borrowing the idea of &quot;the dream eater&quot;.

“Well-being through Creativity” is a creative and mindful experience for people with emotions of anxiety which would allow them to control and minimise their symptoms. By fostering a sense of community and equipping people with imagination-based coping mechanisms, allowing people to manage and reduce these negative emotions. The process behind the design workshops enables people to share and express themselves through guidance and visual design. Using creativity to express imagination by drawing inspiration from observation, engaging in activities, and allowing ourselves to “play” can help process and control anxiety.

&quot;Empty Store&quot; is a collaborative AR immersive experience that merges physical reality with digital assets to tell a story about my experience in London, the challenges I encountered, and how I overcame them to feel confident and creative in this city. This project strongly focuses on digital fashion, where beautiful, colourful, and energetic garments made by 3D fashion artists represent my journey of overcoming daily difficulties.

Shadows is a 2D animated short film on anxiety, inspired by personal experience.“A young teen named Iris experiences an anxiety attack, physically represented by a wolf-like creature which consumes her mind. We are taken into her mind as we see her unravel these overwhelming emotions”

The Challenge: Suicide is the single biggest killer of males under 50. Whether due to societal expectations, traditional gender roles, or both, 40% of men do not feel comfortable talking about their mental health - and so they are left to suffer in silence.The Brief: Create a self-care brand for men that breaks down the stigma of male mental health, and encourages men to process their emotions in a healthy way.My Response: Dudel is a self-care brand that utilises the mindless mindfulness of doodling to break down the barriers that make the wellness industry feel so inaccessible to men. The Dudel Diary is a wellness journal without the words, giving its users a way to work through complex ideas and confusing emotions in a way that inspires creativity and relaxation.

The aim of the research is to develop a strategic design framework for guiding potential users of mental health apps in order to optimise their user experience, ensuring ethical practice as well as the use of evidence-based techniques.

Smart Support 

The aim of this service is to reduce the risk of burnout among grassroots staff in Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) by increasing their sense of accomplishment. 

The service supports SOEs to help their staff to develop a mindset through mentoring, regular follow-up and adjustment so that they are constantly motivated to take action, gain fulfilment from their work and ultimately reduce or avoid burnout.
