LCF24 x Fashion's Purpose

Another variation of my portrait, this time with the addition of cut out sections and the layering of textural elements 

This is a project of self exploration and reflection inspired by the sentimentality of objects and the meaning they hold within our memories.

MEMORIES OF MINE

It is a gold costume with a crochet headpiece and embellishment. It has elements inspired by the Victorian period, but used in an anachronistic way.

This project is an exploration of the inner world of a person who has found themselves grappling with conflicting impulses due to the restrictions of the external world, torn between the overwhelming passion of their emotions and the need for self-control and rational behaviour.

Read Only is a digital publication which takes a deeper look into our internet culture and aims to humanise the internet by profiling internet micro-celebrities, luddite revolutionaries, and niche academics.

Welcome to the Resistance is a communication tactic presented as a short film created for the Islamic streetwear brand Saeedah Haque which uses fashion as its tool for disruption, activism and community, with an overarching aim of making space for Muslim women.

The aim of this project is to evoke a sense of longing through a desire to understand more and appreciation of the current possession of life with a narrative that presents the past, present and future - creating a non-linear timeline that depicts the meeting of &#39;two worlds&#39;, Utopia and Dystopia.

On My Way Home

&quot;Chinese LaLa,&quot; represents the English transliteration of the Chinese term“拉拉” which is a common pronoun for the Chinese lesbian community. It explores the theme of the Chinese lesbian community&#39;s expression of the bodily sensual desire, serving as an entry point for exploring the rebellion, entanglement, and confrontation of the Chinese lesbian community with stereotypical mainstream.

This is a Fashion Styling project that birthed a collection which uses references from Nigerian Adire cloth, hair braiding techniques, traditional colour palettes, and the creator&#39;s experience of growing up as a first generation immigrant.

In this project, ‘Elegant’ represents the glamour of appearance and social status symbolised by ancient and modern fashion, while ‘Bondage’ is a metaphor for the ethical, social, class and environmental issues that lie behind the consumption of fashion and the environmental issues behind the consumption of fashion.

This project is a contemporary fashion perspective honouring Portmeirion Village, through a body of visual photography and moving image work.

Plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum, collectively known as the &quot;Four Gentlemen&quot; in Chinese culture, are traditional themes in Chinese painting and this project reimagines the &quot;Four Gentlemen&quot; in a contemporary fashion cotext.
