Hello! I am a mixed-media Fine Artist located in the U.K. My work explores the complexities of Black identity and the relationships between identity formation and environment.

Race, gender, culture all facets of identity that lose their complexities through classification and categorisation. This selection of video pieces explores uncategorisable identities that exist in-between rigid walls of classification, also focusing on the relationships between race, gender, culture and environment in the physical world and online realm.

Disruption, Labour, Misrecognition (2023)

Disruption, Labour, Misrecognition is an experimental video piece exploring the intricacies of gender identity and presentation. In this video piece I explore my relationship to traditional notions femininity.

The video is a confession of an ongoing internal conflict, where one must accept they are an unintentional disruption to the status quo, or take on labour to conform to a status quo.

In-between-ness (2022)

This video piece is an exploration of a state of isolation. A state of being in-between. Where I am a part of everything and nothing at the same time. An attempt to convey my experience of in-between-ness through sound, imagery and movement.

Memestrilism (2022)

This film piece was made during my DPS year (Diploma in Profession Studies), in collaboration with Feminist Internet and supported by UAL's Creative Computing Institute.

Memestrilism is a critical exploration of internet culture. The video investigates the rise of digitised minstrelsy and the ventriloquism of Blackness amongst social media users.
