Siddhi Ghodgaonkar is a multidisciplinary artist and designer, with a focus on spatial and graphic design. Passionate about storytelling her work endeavours to address social, environmental, and systemic challenges through creative and often playful solutions. During her time on MA Narrative Environments, she explored an alternative system of communication for cold weather events like blizzards in the context of Climate Change - via snow globes. Embracing a dynamic approach, Siddhi's practice traverses various mediums, including sound, film, art installations, and illustration. In 2021, her project ‘The Sound Repository’ and dissertation ‘Narrating Spaces Through Senses’ were nominated for the Interior Educators Awards.

Snowhere is a travelling film installation that proposes speculative, often highly paradoxical scenarios related to cold weather and the warming planet, through a series of generated audio newscasts, weather reports and future forecasts from locations across the globe.

Each forecast is a digital snow globe: a city in North America, where blizzards increase in intensity, a small town in the Himalayas, where snow is manufactured for tourism by directing water away from agriculture, and a temporary deep freeze is set off by aerosol dispersion, in a region of Northern England.

These fictional weather reports engage audiences to interrogate the political manipulation and media communication of cold weather amidst rising temperatures, by highlighting meteorological complexities affecting snow at a hyperlocal level.
