Airbnbreathe is a speculative breathing experience set within the context of first-class air travel, exploring the implications of commodifying air in a world grappling with air pollution.
Airbnbreathe imagines a near future where air becomes a commodity, set within the existing environment of first-class air travel, highlighting the global issue of air pollution and its subsequent impact on human health. This project seeks to explore the implications of this commodification, questioning its impact on societal attitudes towards basic human rights and collective well-being in the face of the ongoing air pollution crisis.
Airbnbreathe claims to source “the purest air” from the most untouched regions of the world and provide it to first-class travelers during their flights. By creating this exclusive experience, the project invites reflection on the ethical implications of privatising a vital resource and sparks a conversation about broader environmental and social concerns.
