Here is a trilogy of sequential lithography prints that features a mysterious figure wandering around and visiting different areas of London. Each print represents a different location, with the first being based on my time visiting Greenwich, the second on my visit to Kennington Park Gardens, and the third and final print based on my visit to Brompton Cemetery in West London.
The idea behind these prints is to showcase a variety of quiet places in London, while also conveying the figure's perspective of feeling abandoned and left behind, as well as reminiscing about belonging to someone else and having people around, now that they have all gone. These prints also highlight areas of London that we often overlook and make us question what makes a city or town, if there is no one to interact with.
The first sequential print features the figure attempting to find someone in Greenwich, but to no avail, in this quiet and abandoned area. The sequential images include sights such as the Greenwich Foot Tunnel and Cutty Sark. The second print shows the figure wandering inside Kennington Park Gardens, where it observes and relaxes inside this peaceful environment. Finally, the last print depicts the figure's journey walking inside Brompton Cemetery, where it passes by different gravestones and inside the chapel building, while also paying its respects to those who have passed away.
