Certain objects can make you happy with their balance, the simplicity of shapes, the sobriety of material, and the feeling of well-being they provide. These forms are truly a part of our lives, and as such, they can enhance who we are and make us grow.

My approach comes from an in-depth observation of nature. I look, I dissect, I draw. I am an observer, a naturalist. Nature has its own language, and I would like to translate it.

When the game suits you

A wearable chess game to play with anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Inspired by Clotilde Lebas’s whistle ring, the French «military training scarves» of the 19th century, or, more recently, the map of France scarves used by the Royal Air Force during World War II, this project is a portable chess game in the form of fashion accessories.

The set comprises 32 rings, a square of silk, and a watch. It can be divided between two players. If the chess set is not shared, the only owner can wear all the elements alone and have fun offering games to strangers and developing encounters in all situations and places.

This chess set is primarily intended for passionate players who appreciate the game as much as the encounters it can provide. Taking up the symbolism of the ring, of the union of two individuals, the game, the set, connects beyond the distance and possibly involves a reunion and a promise for a future game. My goal for this project was to create a series of beautiful handcrafted products that could offer a different experience from a universal board game. My design research led me to two objectives for this project: first, to bring people together through play, and second, to reflect on fashion and our relationship with our accessories.
