In my main collection, there will be themes of clothing worn at sea running throughout. Inspired by the original current overfishing issue, I will attempt to use up cycled, dead-stock and recycled fabrics and trims. From fisherman clothing to scuba diving gear, I will use trims from old collected life jackets, BCD jackets and diving suits. The garments will have reminiscent features of sportswear as well as combining ideas from the research gathered from ocean wear. The fabrics used will keep in line with traditional fabrics typically used for sportswear as well as ocean wear like water resistant fabrics such as coated polyester or nylon. To stay on theme with the ocean environmental issues, I will include recycled synthetic fabrics rather than natural fibres that may stray from the theme. A contemporary take on traditional ocean wear, I will use webbing and buckles as the main fastenings of my garments

I am making a collection that explores playful and youthful energy in the garments by combining vibrant colours and shapes. My intended customer loves to have fun whether that be sharing joy with friends or expressing their own individuality through the outfits they create through layering and combining. My customer will be aware of sustainability issues therefore will embrace aspects of shopping like thrifting and upcycling, therefore not being afraid to put together unique and expressive outfits.
