I'm a jewellery designer, silversmith, stonecutter and enamelist based in London. My designs are centred on longevity and allegory, drawing on both future facing and historical research. As well as winning the Swarovski Foundation Scholarship during my time at Central Saint Martins, I’ve been interviewed by Vogue on sustainable jewellery design, and my pieces have appeared in Wonderland magazine and Current Obsession.

Inspired by far distant pasts and futures, Dermot’s work blends ancient crafting techniques with modern technology in an exploration of developmental storytelling across generations. Faceted cabochon gemstone “lenses” refract and colour allegorical illustrations, altering our view of fragments from John Bunyan’s 1678 novel The Pilgrim’s Progress. Modernist forms reference the book’s “straight and narrow” path, coupled with Blakean visions that interrogate the allegory while preserving it in timeless form.
