The Wilding Initiative is an end-to-end user experience project addressing the issue of the decreasing pollinator population. The main focus of this project was creating a kit that would include everything needed to grow wildflowers in urban areas. The kit was made from unique materials like mycelium, a mushroom vegetation, that would be beneficial to bees and not endanger the environment. Another key component of this project was to create a website that could serve as an information hub, and a place for users to buy or learn to make this kit. The final component of the user journey was a community app that enables users to ask questions and give advice to each other. The app also gives users the options to track the growing process of their wildflowers and gain badges on an individual and local level. This project was an interesting project to gain experience in designing and making an end-to-end 'product' and user journey.
Final work
the Wilding Site
The website for this project is a space that users can use as an information hub, enabling users to learn more about the issue at hand. The website is a space for the users to buy the kit or access the instructions on how to make the kit themselves. There is also a page introducing the community app and other organisations that work help the environment.
the Wilding Community App
This is the Wilding Community App space for users to talk to the other wildflower growers in their neighbourhood, ask questions and give each other advice. This platform also allows users to track their wildflower growing process, gain badges and allow the community to progress together.
