When thinking about the creations I make, I often look at some of the greatest artists. For me, it is Elsa Schiaparelli, Charles James, and Cristobal Balenciaga. These artists were inspired by the beautiful women around them—their muses. It was an era of glamour and excess, big gowns, and lavish parties. This is what built the muses of the times. However, our dress codes have changed, and glamour has been redefined—puffy jackets are just as glamourous as tailored coats. My collection distorts the concept of the muses of yesteryear with the modern women who inspires me as a designer today.
