In recent years, the evolution of wedding customs in China has attracted significant attention, particularly due to the increased emphasis on weddings as a symbol of social status, leading to high costs and substantial financial and psychological burdens on families. At the same time, the environmental impact of lavish weddings has become a major concern, with their heavy resource use and waste generation. These developments are affecting various demographics, extending beyond the couples and their families to wider social and environmental spheres, posing economic, social, and ecological challenges. The project proposes a design strategy focused on integrating sustainability into wedding planning. Central to this strategy is a digital platform designed for couples aged 20-35 in China's first-tier cities. The platform is a key component of the service system that aims to merge traditional Chinese wedding elements with modern, sustainable practices.
