What things does your loved one do that makes you feel warmth? What do you feel when your loved one hugs, kisses or holds your hand? What can love look or feel like? If love was a colour or colours what would it be? These are a few of the many questions I have asked myself through the making of my project.

'Longing For You' is a project aiming to capture and convey the bittersweet feelings of love and longing in long distance relationships. My outcomes was a 16 page riso printed illustrated poetry zine(A5) titled 'Longing For You'. And a digitally produced puzzle purse, which is a love token containing romantic messages folded to create its own envelope.

I took inspiration from my own personal experience of being in a current long distance relationship. I wanted to communicate my feelings longing for my boyfriend in relation to this. I love communicating my feelings through my poetry and illustration, and I want to make audiences feel moved or relate to my work because they have experienced a similar or same feeling. As an individual I feel a lot of emotions, and in order to process how I feel I use metaphorical and symbolic writing, words or phrases to influence my illustration practice.
