Skateboarding is an extreme sport and its essence is actually subculture. There are many popular things in the world that actually evolved from subcultures, such as rock and roll, punk and so on. The display of subculture may be revealed in the thoughts, attitudes, habits, beliefs and lifestyles of facing things, which can be said to be a kind of values and beliefs relative to the mainstream culture, and it is also another kind of special values and behaviours accompanying the mainstream culture. In every society, there are impacts and changes produced by the dominant culture in the face of subcultures, which may be a positive improvement to the dominant culture, or as a negative resistance to the dominant culture. My project is mainly a venue for subcultural group activities, but the theme of the whole venue is still about skateboarding, and the interior of the building contains a skateboarding venue, an accommodation venue, a bar, a restaurant, a stage and other functions. For the shape of the building I referenced the flow that skateboarding has, I wanted the whole building to look like it was stretching forward and the whole venue to be skater friendly, where they could choose their path and skate from one end of the building to the other as they wished.
