Qi An

Profile picture of Qi An
My name is Qi An. I’m a fashion print designer from China who is currently based in London. My work is often inspired by my surroundings, the mundane and the ordinary. Through photography I capture moments and corners of life which I explore and communicate through my sensitive use of colour, mark making and print designs. Within my print practice I mix ideas through a range of processes, always experimenting and exploring digital tools together with craft techniques. Utilizing cross processes in print, digital and screen, together with collage, layering and folding I combine and integrate imagery and artwork resulting in a distinctive and personal collection of Prints.

This collection is dedicated to the charm and beauty behind imperfections as well as the value, history and character within discarded items. Inspired by my own photography of abandoned furniture, ordinary objects and  weeds, I explores colors, textures, patterns and text, generating a range of dynamic and unique designs. Utilizing cross processes in print, digital and screen, together with collage, layering and folding I combine and integrate imagery and artwork resulting in a distinctive and personal collection of Prints.
