With my fine art background, I view garment making as creating wearable art that communicates intimately and responsively with people. Deconstruction of the ever-evolving boundaries and limitations of fashion from the human body and social context are drives for my creation. My designs in BA embrace the harmony of contradictions, inspired by my upbringing, art, music, physics, and philosophy. I aim to create clothing that celebrates the nuanced complexities of individuals - They can be both reserved and outspoken, precise yet spontaneous, sharp yet soft in character… I am also passionate about representing my culture contemporarily through fashion. Garments evoke different personas of oneself, which could be contradictory and ever-changing.

This collection portrays a person who is an office worker by day and a jazz musician at night, they show complex personalities that are both reserved and outspoken, precise yet spontaneous, sharp yet soft in character, they play, dance, and fight with rules.

For this collection, I used up-cycled garments to deconstruct the confronting personas of one.
