Drawing inspiration from fashion history and film, my main collection delves into the relationship between greed, femininity, and gluttony. Titled, ‘Spoilt Rotten’’, this project aims to encapsulate the perpetual desire for more. Central to the concept, the use of  ‘tacky’ self-adhesive gems symbolise not only my research into girlhood, but also alluding to the idea that greed, gluttony and vanity lacks sophistication, even when trying to appear luxurious. I  want my collection to cater to women who are greedy and maximalist in an extremely kitsch and ultra feminine way. The outcome is loud, obnoxious and gaudy. This concept mirrors my design aesthetic as I am guided by my love for playfulness, shape, and kitschiness. My work is a celebration of sculptural femininity and vibrant flamboyance. Volume and shape define my design identity, this is developed through using metal hoops, boning, layering, and smocking. My value in craftsmanship is seen through my experimentation with textiles, beading and textures,  cultivating a dynamic that is naturally fun.
