Garments are like first language. They speak for us before we speak for ourself. This project is about Modest fashion. To me modest fashion is not just about religion but also about culture and lifestyle. The inspiration for this project starts from my home in Pakistan that is surrounded by raw nature and Islamic art that is considered as spiritual representation of nature. This collection is about creating contemporary garments using craft techniques like hand weaving and fabric manipulations to create unique silhouettes. Garments are made from dead stock fabrics, fabrics with natural fibers and yarns and natural dying. This collection is for the women who support ethical consumption and appreciate craft and skills.
