Endless Industry opposes the prevailing technological phenomenon in the current market of 'planned obsolescence, which means that products are designed to last only for a short time. The project focuses on the field of electronic products, which have been regarded as disposable. Endless Industry helps consumers regain more power to use their products by teaching them how to disassemble and reassemble technologies.
Final work
Endless Industry
One aspect of the project questions the impact of the appearance of products on their lifecycle by exploring the connection between flexible fabric and electronic products, therefore creating new aesthetics. Another aspect of the project focuses on the product's structure and, therefore, repairability using visual guidance and modular parts. Meanwhile, the proposed system is built upon standard components and offers the user the ability to assemble, customise, repair, and repurpose existing products.
Endless Industry is a sustainable brand guiding people to rethink the fundamental structure through which everyday objects are conceived, made, and used, helping people to use products more flexibly, prolonging the use of products and reducing waste. The project has culminated in creating nine new fully-transparent forms of electronic products and service systems for public display.
