Hi, I am Zeynep! I am an industrial designer based between Istanbul and London. I am an open-minded, curious designer who enjoys working on unexplored topics and rethinking norms. Central Saint Martins MA Industrial Design has encouraged me to question industrial design's human-centered approach. I am curious about how we can use design for transitions, for the benefit of all beings. By seeing how humans struggle to solve human-created issues, I have gained a deeper understanding of how creativity can inspire change through product design and experiences. I am passionate about developing sustainable and humane products that address social and environmental issues from the perspective of both humans and non-humans.

From total naturalism to human exceptionalism, the nature-human relationship has evolved over time. Humans have become isolated from nature and have cultivated a human-dominated lifestyle that views non-human entities as hindrances or resources to be extracted from, instruments-only, relationally limited and passive entities.

Psychology says humans produce feelings and thoughts by looking for similarities between themselves and others. Moreover, intimacy and closeness are developed through sharing oneself with others, having a deep knowledge of them as well as spending time with each other.

The Oneness collection is designed for people who want to alter their fundamental understanding of themselves and the world around them. By showing similarities between humans and plants and allowing them to spend time together, it explores ways to live in harmony with nature. Through the creation of emotions for living objects, the project aims to change humans' capitalism-driven desires and explore new possibilities in biophilic and transformative design.

Sunlight is essential for humans and plants. Plants use sunlight to make nutrients for themselves, while humans use it to create vitamin D. With the Sunbathing Jacket, humans experience sunbathing with their companion plants, almost as if they are also a plant. By opening the zippers, users can expose their arms to sunlight, absorbing vitamin D while their companion plants enjoy the sun alongside them.

Sleepover pillow brings plants into users' bedrooms, creating an intimate space for them to sleep alongside their companion plants and share a restful environment.

Water is needed to survive. With the Couple's Straw, humans share water with their companion plants. Just as we offer water to our loved ones when they are thirsty.
